Handloom Cotton Scarves
Shema is an Ethiopian traditional cloth that is made from handpicked cotton woven on a handloom in long strips which are then sewn together.
Shema is popular in Ethiopia and is worn by almost everyone.
It is often worn in the form of full-body wraps, dresses, shawls/Scarves.
The density of the cloth depends on the weave, and often the Shema is produced with a light weave used in many layers in blankets (known as Gabi) or clothing.
